Description

From ancient Babylonian Stone tablets to the delights of Google Maps accessed via a phone, our fascination with maps continues. Whether you use maps for work or recreation, wondering about far-flung places, remembering sights and cities or planning future visits remains exciting.  The Future Mapping Company has created this map especially for us, using the Winkel Tripel projection alongside bolder, clearer text. First seen in print in 1955 as The Times Atlas of the World, the projection was designed by Oswald Winkel in 1921 with the aim of minimizing the three areas of distortion faced by map makers: area, direction and distance. Thus it became the Tripel Projection (Tripel is German for triple). The result is a wonderfully spherical-looking map, which gives a graceful curve to oceans and landmasses alike.

Our 1000 piece jigsaws are crafted with premium quality materials and measure 70 x 50cm when complete. Great for Adults and ideal puzzles for Children 14 years old and up. Fully complies with all necessary UK and EU testing standards.
